Summary

EF’s Online Community Engagement and Accountability Program is seeking a consultant to instruct advocacy courses in an online setting. EF seeks individuals with experience and expertise in designing and instructing leadership training courses for CSOs and NGOs in closed societies. Knowledge of advocacy and coalition-building is a plus. The expert is responsible for identifying the key concepts of the course, and providing instruction based on the developed curriculum. The 4-week course focuses on building the ability of civil society actors to better represent constituent concerns, needs and priorities, organizational ethics and transparency principles, community engagement tools, and promoting inclusivity. The instructor will enable participants to incorporate their respective organizations’ constituents’ views/needs into their vision/mission statements. The instructor will report to the Program Officer. 

Duties

  • Instruct distance learning, and interact with course participants on daily basis to teach CSO participants the value of maintaining regular communication with constituents to build mutual trust, and maintain it overtime in closed society’s country context;
  • Teach participants how to facilitate productive constituent conversations, empower long-term interaction and engagement, gather quantitative and qualitative data about constituent’s priorities and utilize data to inform advocacy and project designs;
  • Coach participants in developing tools for community engagement to incorporate constituent feedback into organizational mission/vison statement in weekly lesson plans;
  • Seed discussion questions in forums and monitor participants’ involvement in the social learning platform;
  • Introduce additional resources to participants on related course topics;
  • Facilitate networking opportunities among the participants through creative initiatives;
  • Evaluate the pre and post course exams in order to ascertain the knowledge gained of each participant;
  • Provide an assessment of courses, including recommendations for changes in course content and structure.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in education, social sciences, management, or a related area required;
  • Strong demonstrated experience and background in education and training the trainer methodology;
  • Having work experience or strong knowledge on community engaging and accountabilities; 
  • Experience with teaching online learning pedagogy, particularly towards social learning and networking in the online format;
  • Ideal candidates have relevant working experience Farsi- speaking countries;
  • Fluency in written and spoken Persian /Farsi is required. Fluency in written and spoken English is a plus.
