Summary

EF’s Online Advocacy Program is seeking a consultant for a four week course to teach financial management skills for social and advocacy projects.  The consultant will report to Program Officer. 

Duties

  • Instruct distance learning students, and interact with them on a daily basis;
  • Seed discussion questions in forums and monitor students’ involvement in the social learning platform;
  • Help students understand: financial and revenue structure in social enterprises, general accounting policies and procedures, identify financial objectives and forecast, prepare financial reports, manage cash flow, and understand financial controlling techniques.
  • Introduce additional resources to students as secondary reading materials;
  • Facilitate networking opportunities among the students through creative initiatives;
  • Evaluate the pre and post course exams in order to ascertain the knowledge gained of each student;
  • Provide an assessment of courses, including recommendations for changes in content, structure and activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience with entrepreneurship and finance, specifically for small and medium enterprises;
  • Experience with Iranian entrepreneurship, specifically the considerations and difficulties of financing and managing organizational finances in Iran;
  • Demonstrated interest in subject matter, education, and ability to guide and inspire students, particularly in the online format;
  • Experience in teaching online or remote courses preferred;
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration or finance;
  • Experience in teaching finance  and accounting courses;
  • Ability to operate independently to complete tasks and solve problems;
  • Familiarity with social media tools, blogging and content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal and Moodle;
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, written and oral communication skills;
  • Passion for empowering civil society and supporting campaigners and social activists;
  • Fluency in Persian and English;
  • Familiarity with advocacy work experience in Middle East is preferred.
