Summary

The Strategic Initiatives Intern provides key support on active projects and new business activities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with a focus on youth engagement and international education.  The internship is a paid, full-time position for Spring 2018.

Duties

  • Monitor relevant trends and updates across the region; disseminate weekly updates to program and BD teams
  • Provide financial and administrative support to select projects
  • Conduct research and analysis for proposal development and special initiative projects
  • Support program design and proposal writing
  • Create content (English and Arabic) for website, social media platforms and print collateral
  • Represent EF at relevant meetings and events in the DC area
  • Support knowledge management and information-sharing across departments
  • Translate documents as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of and interest in the Middle East and North Africa region, particularly in the areas of youth leadership, education, and employability
  • Prior experience working on proposals or projects in the above areas
  • Software Skills strongly desired: advanced MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign and Photoshop), familiarity with social media tools and platforms
  • Strong communication, research and writing skills
  • Creativity and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Bachelor’s Degree in international development or related field
  • Fluency in English and Arabic required
