Summary

The EF Online Advocacy program is seeking an advocacy expert to instruct a course on Negotiation and Conflict Resolution to empower civil society leaders and campaigners to solve societal problems. 

Duties

  • Instruct distance learning students, and interact with them daily;
  • Seed discussion questions in forums and monitor students’ involvement in the social learning platform;
  • Assist students in understanding the basic tenets of successful negotiation, including strategizing, framing, and planning organizations;
  • Assist students in building up a skill set to recognize and resolve conflicting needs and viewpoints, 
  • Guide students in creating value, and “enlarging the pie” to produce win-win outcomes
  • Manage teams of negotiators effectively
  • Introduce additional resources to students as secondary reading materials;
  • Facilitate networking opportunities among students through creative initiatives;
  • Evaluate the pre-and post-course exams to gauge the knowledge gained for each student;
  • Provide an assessment of the course, including recommendations for changes in content, structure and activities.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in the social sciences, management or a relevant field;
  • Having work experience or strong knowledge of Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
  • Minimum five years of experience in politics of risk management, collation building, and/or grassroots organizing and movement building;
  • Experience in resource mobilization for campaigns, interacting with the media and running social media campaigns; 
  • Ability to introduce innovative ideas to engage and support civil society activists;  
  • Ability to operate independently to complete tasks and solve problems;
  • Experience with teaching online learning pedagogy, particularly towards social learning and networking in the online format; passion for empowering civil society and supporting campaigners and social activists;
  • Fluency in written and spoken Persian (Farsi) is required. Fluency in written and spoken English is a plus. Previous advocacy working experience in Middle East is preferred.
