Program Assistant, Civic Engagement

Eurasia Foundation (EF), a US-based international development organization, is starting a new initiative that promotes capacity building of anti-trafficking institutions. EF is accepting applications for a Program Assistant to support this new initiative and to contribute as well to the existing Civic Engagement initiative in Central Asia. 

The Program Assistant will assist with providing administrative and logistical support to both initiatives. The selected candidate will support communication with local partners, including planning and organizing roundtables, conferences, and trainings on technical and organizational capacity. S/he will also contribute to budget tracking and assist with record keeping. In addition, the Program Assistant will assist the online civic engagement program by maintaining the virtual platform, organizing online events (meetings/webinars), and developing resources such as social media posts, articles, podcasts and videos. 

The Program Assistant will work closely with and report to the Program Officer to coordinate the initiative to identify opportunities for organizing new events, and establishing partnerships.


  • Contribute to planning, strategizing and implementing the new anti-trafficking initiative and support an existing civic engagement program
  • Contribute to organizing the annual anti-trafficking conferences, roundtables, workshops and local events
  • Coordinate communication with partners, network members, and other constituencies
  • Identify and coordinate updated content for the website and social media
  • Organize and conduct blogging competitions, as well as assist in organizing grants competitions
  • Work closely with consultants and an intern to ensure a quality conduct of the online activities
  • Monitor and follow up on the progress of the activities and events with the beneficiaries
  • Report program achievements and contribute to Quarterly and Final Reports
  • Support other functions as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, social work, area studies, management, or other relevant field required; master’s degree preferred 
  • At least four years of work experience is required; work experience on international development projects is highly desirable 
  • Experience with social media tools, blogging and content management systems such as WordPress, Drupal and Moodle 
  • Exceptional writing, research, and communications skills (Uzbek/Russian and English) 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience in educational projects and online education; concentration in Trafficking in Person area is a plus 
  • Fluency in Uzbek/Russian and English required
