Erkingul Karakozueva

Erkingul Karakozueva is Program Director at Kosh Araket, an NGO based in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. Erkingul serves persons with physical and intellectual disabilities and she is also a specialist on conflict mitigation. In this dual role, she has led a series of initiatives in Kyrgyz, Uzbek and Tajik communities in vulnerable, conflict-prone areas in the Ferghana Valley.

Erkingul has worked closely with Eurasia Foundation’s local affiliate, Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia, on several programs, including an entrepreneurship and leadership program for Ferghana Valley orphans. Prior to working at Kosh Araket, Erkingul worked on conflict mitigation issues at the World Bank, ACDI/VOCA and the Soros Foundation. She has also lectured on conflict resolution, human rights and critical thinking at Osh State University.
