Founding Shareholder and Director, Baring Vostok Capital Partners

Terrence J. English is a founding shareholder, investment committee member, and a director of Baring Vostok Capital Partners, an asset management firm specializing in managing private equity funds in the former Soviet Union.

Mr. English was on the board of the first NIS regional fund from 1994 to 2001. In 1990, together with Russian colleagues, he founded Sovlink Corporation, the first Russian-American merchant bank. From 1976 to 1990, Mr. English held a variety of trading and senior management positions, first with Continental Grain and later with Phillips Brothers, the commodity trading arm of Salomon, Inc.

Mr. English currently serves on a number of nonprofit boards, including the Special Forces Charitable Trust, the Philadelphia Veterans Center, Mohonk Preserve, and the U.S.-Russia Business Council.

Mr. English holds an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Finance and a B.A. from the University of Portland. He is a Vietnam War veteran, having served as an officer in the U.S. Army Special Forces from 1968 to 1974.
