Nadine Gogu

Nadine Gogu is the director of the Independent Journalism Center (IJC) in Chisinau, Moldova. The IJC is a leading media resource center in Moldova and provides assistance to journalists and media institutions throughout the country. Nadine helps carry out the organization’s mission to promote independent and impartial media in Moldova and oversees the center’s journalist training and legal support programs.

Nadine entered journalism in 1995 by helping launch “TIMPUL” (“The Times”), today a leading newspaper in Moldova. Nadine has worked as an editor, reporter and editor-in-chief. In addition to her current role at IJC, Nadine is an instructor at Chisinau School of Advanced Journalism and a correspondent for Reporters Without Borders, an international media watchdog organization based in Paris.

Nadine graduated from Moldova State University in 1992 and earned an M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications at Oklahoma State University in 2007 as an Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellow.
