Summary

Eurasia Foundation seeks a communications assistant to support our strategic communications activities. The assistant will report to the communications officer and work closely with programmatic teams, providing social media, editorial, design, and administrative support, and assisting with special projects and events. This person plays a key role in executing a communications strategy that grows and engages our audience and tells our story.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career international development communications professional to work collaboratively with a mission-driven organization supporting international development work in Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, and Asia. You will have the opportunity to own projects, grow, share your knowledge, and help shape how EF tells its story.

Duties

• Assist in developing creative ways to share EF program highlights and promote organizational awareness across channels. Communications products may include social media campaigns, feature stories, web collateral, event announcements, organizational news, videos, and impact reports, among others.
• In cooperation with program teams, assist in identifying and developing regular, compelling storytelling and visual content to demonstrate program progress and success.
• Seek opportunities, priority events, and platforms to reach target audiences and stakeholders in relevant thematic areas.
• Monitor social media trends and usage and develop regular social media reports.
• Monitor news outlets and partners for relevant regional news and events.
• Other duties as assigned by the communications officer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, required
• Minimum one year of relevant experience, required
• Experience with design and creative tools strongly preferred, e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Canva
• Digital and social media experience, demonstrated ability to write engagingly
• Excellent verbal, writing, research, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Must be a self-starter able to work independently, manage multiple projects with strong attention to detail, and meet deadlines
