DC: Program Assistant, Civic Engagement and Governance

Summary

Eurasia Foundation (EF), a US-based international development organization, is accepting applications for a Program Assistant to support the Foundation’s innovative Civic Engagement and Governance (CEG) portfolio in several countries in Eastern Europe and Eurasia. 

The Program Assistant will provide administrative and logistical support to the programs in the CEG portfolio. The selected candidate will support communication with field staff and partners, including organizing weekly management calls, preparing minutes and assisting with action item follow-up. S/he will also assist with preparing expense reports, entering data into EF’s accounting system and keeping track of program records. In addition, the Program Assistant will help with formatting and posting consultant terms of reference and, together with EF communications staff, contribute to social media posts in English about CEG programs. 

Duties

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of EF’s civic engagement and governance programs
  • Assist with arranging HQ-field office management meetings
  • Coordinate communication with field staff, partners, and other constituencies
  • Provide substantial support in drafting quarterly narrative reports
  • Provide administrative support for program-related procurements, draft selection memos and consultant contracts, and prepare payment requests in EF’s accounting system
  • Support other functions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, area studies, public administration or other relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred 
  • At least two years of work experience required; relevant work experience civil society or e-governance projects is highly desirable
  • Work or living experience in Eastern Europe and/or Central Asia preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, social media tools, and other digital tools required
  • Exceptional writing, research, and communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Russian required; knowledge of Ukrainian, Kazakh or Tajik preferred.
