Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Program Manager, the Senior Program Officer will play a key role in supporting ELE’s student exchange program in Eurasia. He/she will be responsible for implementing program activities including but not limited to selection of program participants, international travel arrangements, placement of participants in US-based universities, as well as assistance with various program development and outreach efforts as they arise.
 

Duties

  • Contribute to the timely implementation of all planned program activities
  • Assist in the effort of ensuring the overall program compliance with various requirements and regulations
  • Support the effort of gathering and analyzing data on key program indicators
  • Contribute to the preparation of various programmatic reports and documents
  • Facilitate general administrative functions of the program (e.g., financial reconciliation, data management, communication, etc.)
  • Ensure timely completion of project deliverables, outcomes, and reporting requirements
  • Keep track of the project budget and financial reports
  • Oversee participant recruitment, selection, and placement processes
  • Facilitate participant travel arrangement and special events
  • Oversee program staff
     

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in international studies, international development, public administration or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Demonstrated capacity to coordinate fellowships and exchanges and facilitate the implementation of USG-funded projects. Previous program implementation experience in Eurasia required; experience in Russia preferred. Strong attention to detail, strategic planning, organizational, written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Other: Excellent written and spoken English language ability required. Knowledge of Russian language and strong computer skills required.
