Online School to Advance the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
Eurasia Foundation’s Online School to Advance the Rights of Persons with Disabilities supports the inclusion and social integration of persons with disabilities based on principles enshrined in the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Through the program, disability advocates and social entrepreneurs participate in a series of interactive online courses on social entrepreneurship, advocacy, and coalition building. They tackle important issues in the disability community such as the right to education, the right to employment, and the right to accessibility. As part of the course curriculum, participants design and implement their own project focused on some aspect of supporting social inclusion of people with disabilities. Projects typically result in coalitions, campaigns, and disability-centric social enterprises lasting well beyond course conclusion.
EF uses a practical coaching method throughout the series to meet each participant’s individual needs and develop tailored projects. In addition to providing individual support, EF has connected all course graduates into a robust alumni network, which serves as a community of experts in advancing disability rights. Through this network, participants and community members exchange ideas, problem-solve, and offer guidance to each other as they explore and implement their own projects designed to positively impact society.
